Katie McCabe OTR, MASL has a dynamic background of knowledge and experience as an occupational therapist and ergonomics specialist. Katie earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She later received her Master of Arts in Servant Leadership from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Katie has practiced in a variety of occupational therapy settings with extensive clinical experience in the outpatient arena treating patients with various musculoskeletal and neurological injuries and diagnoses. Most recently, Katie has spent nearly 10 years as an ergonomics specialist working in a multitude of workplace settings. Her healthcare clinical experience combined with her passion for ergonomics and injury prevention allows her to share the knowledge and tools needed to assist employees and leadership teams to achieve sustainable injury prevention outcomes. Her ability to collaborate with numerous stakeholders consistently achieves injury prevention and risk reduction outcomes which positively affect the employer’s bottom line.
Katie has completed her Human Factors Engineering coursework at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor School of Engineering. She has been a presenter at the National Ergonomics Conference, The Wisconsin Association of Occupational Health Nurses - Midwest Regional, and the Wisconsin Safety Council to name a few. Katie works in numerous workplace settings such as light manufacturing, heavy manufacturing, foundries, healthcare, office settings, construction, transportation, warehousing/distribution and de-manufacturing.
Katie completes ergonomic assessments, interventions and training, injury prevention, employee and leadership training, workers' compensation solutions, development of ADA compliant job descriptions, pre-work screens, functional capacity evaluations and safe patient handling.
